Each year, workers are injured, sometimes fatally, when equipment and machinery accidentally activate during repair or maintenance. Effective procedures to control hazardous energy can prevent these injuries. This course outlines the requirements for control of hazardous energy when doing servicing and maintenance on equipment and machines. It covers energy sources, lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures, safety programs for controlling hazardous energy, and regulations related to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standard.
